Chief Purpose Officer

About

As Tombras’ first Chief Purpose Officer, Lindsay Stein is tasked with working across disciplines to ensure purpose is at the core of client strategy and campaigns, from creative and brand-thinking to media activation and PR. She also works on the agency’s internal purpose-focused initiatives, including the Tombras School of Advertising and PR at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, which aims to double the number of BIPOC graduates from the program in the coming years. Previously, Stein was the Chief of Social Impact at Havas NY, charged with helping marketers and organizations leverage their own values to create purpose-driven solutions that drive tangible change, while internally creating a narrative of creativity that will positively impact company culture, retention, and talent recruitment. Lindsay also served as the CEO of nonprofit Today, I’m Brave, which helped underserved youth unlock their bravery through the power of storytelling and curated events. Before that, she spent the better part of a decade transforming the advertising industry by pushing agencies and marketers to make purpose-driven changes. During her time at Campaign Magazine as the U.S. Editor, she launched the Female Frontier Awards and the Power of Purpose Awards; evolved the Inclusivity and Creativity Awards and the 40 Over 40 Competition; and kicked off an agency-wide maternity and paternity report, which drove many agencies to improve their internal policies. Before Campaign, Stein was a reporter at Ad Age for three years, focusing on creativity, marketing and media. She also previously spent five years at PRWeek, covering consumer marketing.
