Creative thinker and strategic planning leader available for long-term and short-term consulting projects. I have played leadership roles in many of New York’s most admired advertising agencies such as Ogilvy, BBDO and JWT. I have a repeatedly built world class planning departments; won more than my fair share of new business (and awards if you think that matters); provided industry recognized thought leadership as well as designed training and development programs that attracted and retained talent. In 2010 I surprised everyone, even myself, by jumping over to R/GA to be their first Chief Strategy Officer. In this role I introduced and developed a totally new set of strategic disciplines that integrated brand storytelling and brand experience to the system design and software production capabilities of R/GA's global network. These 4 years led me to revisit a lot of the accepted wisdoms of our business in the context of connectivity and mobility and I think I’m well on the way to defining some new techniques for brands to grow and new tools for strategic planners and marketers alike (but like everything, it’s changing fast and I’m changing my thinking at the same speed).
