Chief Creative Officer & Co-Founder

About

Chris Sojka is the founder and chief creative officer of Madwell, a cross-medium creative agency based in Brooklyn. In 2010, Chris and co-founder David Eisenman established Madwell as a truly independent, truly interdisciplinary (and channel-neutral!) agency with a mold-breaking vision of what a creative shop could be. Madwell now employs more than 120 industry professionals with offices in Brooklyn and Denver.

Effectively an industry outsider (before working in the performance marketing agency where he met his future business accomplice, he was an NYU Tisch School of Photography dropout), Chris has synthesized his training in fine art with a love of human psychology to build Madwell’s proprietary advertising approach around the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) triangle. Madwell’s strategy, creative, technology, experiential, and media teams are organized by their role in the delicate balance of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that defines CBT theory.

The company name contains the recipe for Chris’s institutional vision: Madness well harnessed is genius. Otherwise, it’s just madness. Ergo, be mad, but do it well. Fascinated by the ever expanding universe of communications, and compelled to merge creative ideas with data-based attribution and accountability, Chris has been pioneering a single-stop solution from strategy to media-buying and beyond.

Madwell’s past and present client roster includes a variety of innovative brands in the telecommunications, insurance, spirits, natural foods and fitness categories, including Verizon and Verizon’s prepaid service Visible Mobile, Google, the TCS New York City Marathon, Sun-Maid’s Plum Organics, Heineken, Clif Bar, insurance startup Everly Life, and more.
