As Vice President of Digital Marketing for Empire State Development, Anna Pakman serves as the head of digital for New York State’s chief economic development agency. In this role, she oversees product development, content, marketing, and analytics across all digital, mobile and social media platforms for tourism and business development initiatives including I LOVE NEW YORK.
Prior to joining New York State, Anna was the Director of Digital Marketing for Current TV/Al Jazeera America where she led social media campaigns for Election 2012, documentary specials, and more. After the acquisition of Current TV, Anna served as part of the Al Jazeera America executive launch team, establishing the new network’s brand presence across digital platforms, including the Shorty Award-winning @AJAM Twitter account.
Previously, Anna was with NBC Universal where she developed award-winning social media campaigns and led social strategy for the Oxygen network and all of its shows. Anna holds an MBA in Marketing and Media Management from Columbia Business School and a BS in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business.
