About

Matthew DiGirolamo was appointed Chief Communications Officer for L'Oreal USA in February 2015. Reporting to the company’s CEO, Frédéric Rozé, Matthew is responsible for building and protecting L’Oréal’s reputation in the U.S. In his role, Matthew oversees the company’s internal communications, external communications, public affairs, issues & crisis management, and corporate social responsibility initiatives, including the company’s For Women in Science program and its 2020 sustainability commitments known as “Sharing Beauty with All.”

Matthew joined L’Oréal USA in January 2014 and, prior to his current role, he served as Vice President of External Communications. At L’Oréal, Matthew is focused on helping key stakeholders understand the business strategy, leadership vision, technological innovation and social contributions of the parent company behind the beauty brands and products that millions of consumers use and love every day. His vision is to translate the iconic French company to the American market and open up opportunities for growth by guiding the company to be more visible and vocal, empowering its passionate employees to serve as external ambassadors and expanding the traditional scope of beauty through proactive storytelling focused on the company’s technological innovations.

Prior to his leadership roles at L’Oréal, Matthew was a Los Angeles-based consultant leading strategic communications initiatives for a range of high-profile clients and projects, including Maria Shriver, The Shriver Report, Special Olympics, The Women's Conference, The California Endowment, U.S. Green Building Council, American Foundation for Equal Rights, The Asomugha Foundation, Live Earth, and the Entertainment Industry Foundation.

Matthew DiGirolamo holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He and his wife, Karina, live in New York City with their two young children.
